The companion bottom knife is of equal importance in the SPS™ (Super Performance Series) Cutting System. Operating in harmony with the top male knife, the bottom band enhances system performance and further reduces dust related problems.

IKS´ Super Performance Series Slitting System consists of a male knife and a bottom knife, paired and "performance matched" to your individual cutting requirements. The hardened tool steel body, with tungsten carbide inlay, of our SPS Carbide Bottom Bands is ground to a microfinish on both the outside diameter and the cutting edge. The sharp, razor-like cutting edge and precision mirror finish provide the ultimate in dustless cutting. Our bands are made from high grade carbide steel that give you 30% to 50% higher performance than other carbides sold today. In addition, they stay sharp up to twenty times longer than standard steel knives. Because the bottom knife is a harder Rockwell than the top male knife, the honing action of the bottom knife inhibits the usual burr from forming on the top knife during high-speed slitting….a major contributor in dust.
